Jobs Nottingham

Jobs in Nottingham are due to attract even more competition between job seekers, after recent reports that one of the area’s largest employers, Alliance Boots, is to axe over 900 non-retail jobs from its office in Beeston.

The hundreds of redundancies, which are set to take place over the next three years, are part of the company’s attempt to streamline its functions and reduce manufacturing costs.  This latest move to axe jobs is forecasted to save the organisation an estimated £56 million, and will mainly affect those working within its Health and Beauty division and contract manufacturing.

Although Alliance Boots is of course pledging its utmost support in finding alternative jobs in Nottingham for the hundreds of staff affected, by relocating them to other areas of the business wherever possible, many will obviously be asked to take early retirement or redundancy.

Despite a promise by Vodafone to bring a host of new jobs to Nottinghamshire, this latest news will obviously come as a blow to the region, particularly on the back of government proposals to implement mass public sector redundancies. As a result, the number of applicants for available vacancies is bound to escalate considerably.

If you are looking for vacancies in Nottingham, the clicknow4jobs.com job site has a number available in all sorts of disciplines and industries, providing real career opportunities and both full and part time work.  Vacancies are updated daily, so job seekers are advised to check regularly to find out which jobs have been added.
