| Description |
A Service based in Derby require a tier 3 substance misuse practitioner to join their busy team. Experience with substance misuse clients and good knowledge of prescriptions for substitute medication is essential.
The role as a Tier3 drug worker will involve accepting referrals from GPs and self referred clients dealing with mainly opiate abuse issues and:
To assess, plan, implement and evaluate structured treatment programmes for individual clients in accordance with agreed quality Practices and procedures.
To facilitate drug treatment clinics, providing comprehensive support and advice to the prescribing GP, based on a sound understanding of the drug treatment prescribing guidelines and approved substitutes such as methadone and subutex.
To facilitate substance misuse psychosocial interventions, providing comprehensive support and advice to partner agencies, based on a sound understanding of evidence based practice.
To provide any other advice and guidance relating to child protection and any other issues where necessary.
There is also the high probability of a permanent position being offered to candidates who are suitably experienced after the initial 4 week contract. |
