Sitec group are currently recruiting for a prestigious global manufacturer of industrial Diesel engines and Earth moving equipment and are seeking a Development Engineer to be based in their offices in Peterborough.
This Contract position is part of the growing, Emmisions (After-treatment) & Cooling Products team responsible for the design, development and validation of Emmissions (After-treatment) solutions required to meet current and future emissions regulations around the world.
The successful applicant will work with a dedicated team to introduce the Tier 4 Engine Range Final and EU Stage 4 capable systems for core series products. These engine and aftertreatment systems are used in a wide range of machine, industrial and electric power applications. The After-treatment Development (Performance) Engineer will be responsible for the initial specification and performance verification of After-treatment Components, including washcoats and substrates vs. programme technical objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Engine system and component level test planning · Facilitation of test and instrumentation setup · Data analysis and component specification · Development of solutions and implementation and delivery of permanent corrective actions to address any key issues identified · Work with and advise machine integration teams to develop a market leading product · Aftertreatment system model development · Quantification of design change impacts on aftertreatment performance
Ability to perform details calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction and installation standards and specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Engineering Degree · Relevant experience working within engine calibration or after-treatment development.
Preffered Experience · Engine and/or After-treatment design and/or development experience, in particular Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC), Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems · Structured problem solving including 6 Sigma and 8D methodologies (Green Belt preferred)
Experience of engine system performance modelling (CAE)
