Job Title: Commissioning Manager - Water
Description
Position: Commissioning Manager – Water

Salary: £55,000pa (Negotiable)

Location: Leeds, Yorkshire

Our client works with customers in the water, wastewater and environmental sectors, delivering full service process engineering design and build projects. They currently have a requirement for Commissioning Manager to work predominately on Yorkshire Water schemes based from their Leeds office. Job responsibilities:

• Assist in all aspects of manpower planning including recruitment and selection, development, succession planning and de-manning for the Commissioning Department

• To assist Senior Management with the development of the department in order to ensure that the department is capable of achieving the agreed business objective.

• Demonstrate a professional integrity and personal pride in organising and managing the ETM Commissioning Department to achieve optimum performance with respect to the commissioning of projects.

• Ensuring communication channels exist into the department and creating an atmosphere of two-way communication within it.

• Setting objectives and performance standards to ensure all departmental team members are aware of the quality and quantity of output necessary, whilst encouraging and inspiring all employees o achieve personal and company objectives.

• Managing performance through the regular appraisal of individual performance against the objectives set; identifying skill gaps and ensuring the collective capability of the department is comprehensive and up to date in preparation for current and future demands.

• Provide training, coaching and support to the team.

• Address issues of under-performance in a timely and legal manner.

• Provide positive leadership to the site teams.

• Ensure technical compliance with the project brief and the ISO9001/2000 Quality System ensuring liaison with the Safety Manager to ensure that the best H & S practices are constantly being employed.

Service Delivery:

• Remaining focused on the ´right first time´ delivery of the project.

• Adhering to statutory safety regulations.

• Interacting effectively at all levels.

• Working to man-hour budgets to mitigate over-runs.

• Reporting to Stream Managers on progress and identifying any potential problems as they develop.

• Successfully manage the Site Commissioning teams in the delivery of the contracts undertaken by the Company as executed by the Batch Managers.

Candidate requirements:

• Able to effectively build key relationships both internal and external • Have sufficient experience/knowledge to manage the output of commissioning teams to meet customer requirements and business goals. The successful candidate will also be able to effectively interact with credibility with all levels of site and Management personnel.

• Have the technical expertise in the relevant field of engineering and operational services.

• Ability to contribute to Operational issues and deadlines.

• Computer literate with relevant engineering software.

• Relevant experience of water industry commissioning

• Experience of managing a commissioning team to high quality standards and targets.

• Experience and knowledge of clean and waste water processes.
